Thanks to Venkat Macha for taking these snaps during his recent trip to IT-BHU, Varanasi, India. These snaps took me back many many years…to the days when I was studying (?) Engineering! These snaps are worth their weight in gold for me

The Powers of Ten
This is a wonderful film that I happened to chance upon after several years of my first seeing it. This film was made by Charles and Ray Eames in 1977 and uses the technique of “kinestasis” (varying camera movements over images). In this example the majority of the images are still images and just scaled larger or smaller as to create the feel of moving away or towards a subject. Enjoy!
Banaras!
Something took me back many years, and all of a sudden, I started thinking about Banaras. I spent four great years of my life in Banaras, enjoying the real India. This quick and rough sketch (done in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet) is just to remember the ghats of Banaras. I will work on the details someday.
