I wanted to become a poet, but…

All of a sudden,
I picked up my pen
one day…
With this unstoppable urge
to try and splurge
with words that I ever knew to this day…
I wanted to write a poem
full of emotion
and full of feeling,
I wanted to convey a message
that could change the ideas of this age,
and free us from this cage…
So I picked up my pen
and I began to think…
but alas, my heart began to sink
because my pen ran out of ink!!!

Back from Bezwada!
The week was hectic on the personal front. There were two weddings in the close family to attend, and that pretty much kept me out of work and action for almost a week. It was an enjoyable week, though. I got to meet and catch up with almost the entire extended family.
I’m back now, and there will be an increased activity here. Thanks!

Bezwada
I’m off for a few days on a personal visit to Vijayawada. Amongst the locals, the town is also called “Bezwada”. It gets so hot over there during summers that some people call the place “Blazewada”.
I’m looking forward to the mango pickles and the spicy food!
I’ll see if I can take some snaps there
. See you soon!

A Magic Place
Posted by phani in Illustration on August 5th, 2009
I was working on the cover designs for a school text book called ” A Magic Place”. Here are the roughs for two different concepts for the same. The publishing house seems to have liked the version with the rainbow.
Both these were done entirely digitally (I drew directly into the computer using a cintiq 12wx).

Working on the Cintiq
Posted by phani in My Approach on August 4th, 2009
My daughter shot this video with her mobile phone while I was working in my studio. I’m not too sure you can make anything out in the darkness, I wasn’t aware that she was recording until much later. I’ll soon post better videos of work in progress on the cintiq
The music track playing in the background is copyright The Eagles (Too busy being fabulous)
