Chacha Chaudhary
“Chacha Chaudhary” is copyright Mr Pran, the famous cartoonist who created this hugely popular character. Almost all of Northern India instantly recognizes the lovable Chacha.
I got this opportunity in 2004 to animate stories from the comic books of Chacha Chaudhary. This is the first story we animated. The comic book was given to us and we were asked to choose any story and animate it. We picked one, rethought and rescripted it, wrote all the dialogues, created all the supporting characters, gave the voices ourselves and animated it. We did all this in two weeks! Since there was very little time, we decided to stick to very limited animation.
Aroop, Chandan, Kamal, Vibhuti, Deepa, Guptha and Laxman…you guys did a great job in so little time. Looking back, I only wish we had more budgets and time. I’m sure you’ll agree that things would have been different then
It was fun working on this project.
Ammoru
This film is copyright Shyam Prasad Reddy of MS Arts. Thanks a ton for giving us an opportunity to work on your film, Shyam!
The special effects for the climax sequences of this feature film called “Ammoru” were done by me and my team mates Rajaram, Kamee and Solomon. These were done in 1994-95 while I was the SFX director at Shakti Computechnics, Chennai. We used High end Silicon Graphics machines running software like Matador and Alias to pull these effects through. We were happy that the movie and the effects went on to become a major hit! We worked day and night to complete these effects. Earlier to this, I also had the wonderful opportunity to work under Christopher Holmes (the special effects director of this film) while doing the effects for some other sequences of this film at Prasad Video Digital, Chennai.
Note: This clip contains blood and gore.

1996-97
“Tara Ki Duniya” is copyright First Serve Entertainment. Many thanks to FSE and Tulika for making it happen.
This is the Title Song for the show. This animated 13 episode series was made in 1996 by a bunch of very enthusiastic animators who were doing long format animation for the first time. This was done in Chennai, India. This may be one of the first cartoon shows made in India. The 13 part show was telecast on India’s National Television several times over in 2000-2001.The language is Hindi. I’m sorry there are no sub-titles.
I haven’t enjoyed working on any other project as much as I have enjoyed working on this.
I’ll soon post the 13 part series here.
A Trip to Heaven
2002-03
Copyright DTIL.
These are excerpts from a film “A Trip to Heaven” that we worked on a few years ago. This is a folklore tale from the state of Bihar in India. The idea was to make a series of folk tales from each state in India. Kudos to the spirited effort from the wonderful team I had the opportunity to direct. You guys rock!
